  • Administrative Duties: Booking travel, buying and delivering office supplies, filing and website design and management.
  • Banking/bill pay support including making deposits, paying bills, tracking bill payments.
  • Invoicing/Accounting: sending, tracking, and processing invoices and payments, managing client’s reimbursable expenses, QuickBooks or Freshbooks management.
  • Financial planning support: organizing and gathering all information and documents that accountant needs to prepare taxes. Services may include scanning each document monthly.
  • Fly- in support: sending meeting requests, scheduling meetings, gathering all meeting information (location, attendees, contact info, etc.).
  • Manage political giving by tracking all donations.
  • Fulfillment and distribution for client gifts for both holidays and other occasions.
  • Attend and provide detailed reports on relevant Congressional hearings and mark-ups.
  • Research and provide detailed reports on pending legislative activity and legislative history as needed by the client.
  • Assist with preparation for client briefings, pitches and Congressional meetings.
  • Provide research and policy support for Congressional “fly-ins” and client meetings.
  • Recruitment of Member and staff participation at special events.
  • Contracting venues for Board Meetings, VIP breakfasts, lunches and dinners, all fundraising events, fly-ins and staff retreats. We can offer innovative ideas for your events.
  • Invitation design and attendee management for small and large events. This includes creating and sending the invitation, managing the lists, printing name tags and staffing the event.
  • Creating and managing your event budget.
  • Full on-site management of events.
  • Menu planning, audio-visual and décor management for events.


  • Carrie Simmons

    Prior to joining HSB Solutions, Ms. Simmons served as the lead Republican consultant for The Faith and Politics Institute. In addition to her fundraising role, Ms. Simmons organized and participated in an internal strategic planning task force to rebrand and reposition the bipartisan Institute both locally and nationally. She was also responsible for building and maintaining Republican relationships on the Hill for the organization.

    Before joining The Faith & Politics Institute in 2008, Ms. Simmons worked as a federal lobbyist for The Coca Cola Company. She served as the Company’s key contact to the federal government, industry groups, and customers in Washington D.C.; responsible for developing and implementing legislative strategies in all issues areas for the Company and managing the federal PAC.

    Ms. Simmons also served in The Executive Office of the President, The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as the Deputy Associate Director for Legislative Affairs. Primary responsibilities included representing the Administration’s priorities and policy positions to Senators and their staffs. Other responsibilities included: preparation and presentation of the President’s FY 2005 Budget; preparing Principals for hearings before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Government Affairs Committee, Budget Committee and Armed Services Committee; presentation of the mid-session review; daily interaction with Senate Leadership, the White House, and Executive Agencies; participated in the review and implementation of regulatory matters.

    Prior to working at OMB, Ms. Simmons served as a Legislative Assistant to both Senator John Ensign (R-NV) and Connie Mack (R-FL).

    Ms. Simmons lives with her family in Alexandria, Virginia.

  • Jane Batson

    Jane Batson


    Ms. Batson has lived and worked in the Washington, DC, area for over 15 years. With an extensive background in trade associations, hotels, and political committees, Ms. Batson brings a wealth of knowledge to the full execution of the event and meeting experience. Her previous roles over the years have enabled her to create memorable events, meetings, and conferences for her employers and clients. Whether a small, private meeting for VIPs, or a large event designed to entertain over 1000 attendees – Jane has the experience, expertise, and grace to fully design and execute events for her clients.

    Prior to joining HSB Solutions, Ms. Batson served as the Director of Events for the Republican Governors Association (RGA). In this role, she planned events all around the country for the Executive Roundtable (major donor) members of the RGA. By bringing creativity and flair to political events, Ms. Batson created memorable experiences for the RGA and its premiere donors.

    Before joining the RGA, Ms. Batson worked for the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), where she planned and executed an assortment of meetings and events, as well as negotiated contracts and fulfilled sponsor packages for the annual conference. In this role, she handled all special projects for the CEO, including all Board of Directors meetings and contract negotiations with the NFL and MLB.

    Ms. Batson also spent a memorable part of her career at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown (DC), where she handled delegations. In this role, she arranged all aspects of the hotel stays including reservations, dining experiences throughout the city, meeting room and audio visual needs, and special requests on demand.

    Ms. Batson began her career at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – first as an assistant in the National Chamber Foundation and later in a managerial role in the Corporate Programs Department. At the Chamber, she traveled the country planning and managing every aspect of events and meetings, including registration, business meeting logistics, pre-planning and on-site organization, as well as developing entertaining experiences with striking décor, thoughtful menus, and live band and other performances.

    Some of the notable highlights of Ms. Batson’s career include:

    • Planning events featuring the President of the United States, Vice President of the United States, presidential candidates, and cabinet officials
    • Organizing visits to Washington DC for Prime Ministers, heads of states, and embassy delegations, including the King of Jordan
    • Receiving a blessing from the Dalai Lama after organizing a week-long visit
    • Planning (and participating!) in a NASCAR racing experience
    • Holding events at numerous sporting venues across the country
